Taking My Son Riding at Facility 15 NJ

Some of the best parenting moments don’t happen at home — they happen in the dirt, early in the morning, with bikes in the back of the truck and coffee still kicking in. Lately, one of our favorite places to spend that time together has been Facility 15 in New Jersey, where my son gets to ride the pit bike track and just be a kid on two wheels.

Why We Ride at Facility 15

Facility 15 isn’t a random riding spot or a crowded public track. It’s a member-based motocross and pit bike facility built for people who actually want to ride, learn, and respect the space. The whole place feels intentional — from the layout to the rules — and as a parent, that matters.

It’s big, open, and sandy in that classic New Jersey way, which makes it challenging but fun. You can tell the tracks were designed by riders, not just bulldozed into existence.

The Pit Bike Track (Where My Son Lives All Day)

For us, the pit bike track is the main attraction.

It’s designed specifically for small bikes, which makes it the perfect place for kids to build confidence without worrying about big bikes ripping past them. The layout flows really well, and there’s even an over-under bridge that my son still thinks is the coolest thing ever.

Lap after lap, I get to watch him:

  • Pick better lines

  • Get smoother on the throttle

  • Learn how to ride with other kids safely

That kind of progression doesn’t happen by accident — it happens in the right environment.

Why I Feel Good Letting Him Ride Here

As a dad, you’re always doing that mental math: Is this safe? Is this worth it? Is he learning something?

Facility 15 checks those boxes.

Because it’s membership-based, things feel more controlled. Riders follow rules, gear is taken seriously, and everyone knows what kind of riding belongs where. It’s not chaos — it’s organized fun.

I don’t have to hover. I can step back, watch him ride, and enjoy the fact that he’s doing something active, challenging, and confidence-building.

It’s About More Than Bikes

Sure, there are pit bikes everywhere — CRF110s, KLX110s, and everything in between — but what really stands out is the community. Kids helping kids. Parents talking setups. Everyone cheering when someone clears something new for the first time.

Those are the moments that stick.

It’s not just seat time — it’s learning respect, patience, and confidence. And those lessons carry way beyond the track.

Why We’ll Keep Coming Back

Taking my son to Facility 15 isn’t about turning him into a racer. It’s about spending time together, watching him grow, and building memories that don’t involve screens.

Dirty boots. Big smiles. One more lap before packing up.

If you’ve got a kid who rides pit bikes and you’re in New Jersey, Facility 15 is absolutely worth checking out. For us, it’s become part of our routine — and honestly, part of our story.
